I just installed outlook and it is rather different. Can someone give me some hints if there are any for reading those tables in messages with jaws? Thanks a lot.

When you wish to view an HTML email, open the email by pressing enter from the list view, and then press Alt H X V

I'm using outlook 2007 and I can read e-mail and do everything fine, but for some reason since yesterday afternoon I haven't been able to send e-mails.

Note that Jaws versions prior to Jaws 10 do not work well, if at all, with Office 2007 programs, I tried it and I did not get 9 to do anything.

Hi, I have OUtlook 2007 on my laptop and Jaws 11. Does anyone know how to access shared calendars? I've looked through the Outlook help section, a braille Outlook for Jaws Manual, and on the web. Nothing is working. I need to access a coworker's calendar. She has granted me access, In very simple terms, does anyone know how to do this? I need to set up appointments, and I'm not sure how to do this in her calendar. Help Please!!!

Wow! Questions. Smile. People Outlook has a great help section. You can type in your questions and get answers. Depending on how you have things setup depends on how things are accessed. Jaws also has a help section on it as well.
Some answers. For the person that can't send emails, but was able to before, did you try to sent a large attachment? Look in the out box to see if mail is stuck there. Now for G mail it has some good drections on it pages for getting it to send and receive with Outlook, so you'll have to redo your setup. Do you have what is cdalled the Outlook connector installed? For these questions to be answered completely a person would have to take each question and ask questions to see why you are having issues. Outlook is a great program, but has lots of variations in my opinion. Windows live mail is easier. I like them both however.
Good luck.

I am going to try to answer the calendar question.
My setup is, Jaws 11.0-0756 and all my office programs are up to date. Outlook is installed with no changes as far as the calendar goes, so out of the box and I run Win7, but that doesn’t matter.
I open Outlook then use control 2 to access calendar. Mine starts in month view. Using right and left arrows take me through days up and down weeks and tab and shift tab appointments. I have several different calendars, so in the questions case to access the shared calendar after you have accepted it I use alt key. I arrow down to calendar hit inter and can type the name in there hit inter now that calendars open. To add to it I use applications key or Alt A to take me to actions, not arrow key choose what I want, hit inter and now I can type in the fields. When I’m finished I just hit escape, or I can use the alt key again and under there I get ask questions to what I want to do. Escape is faster, because most times I just want to save it, so Outlook asks me this. If I just want my list of calendars I use alt tab to move over to my list view window like in the mail section when you want to find your inbox, or mail folders. The view controls are the same, so if you want to find that calendar after you open up and use control 2 I just use control tab then arrow up and my list is there. I get to the one I want, then hit inter then tab and you are back to the instructions above.
I hope this helps. Get in there and play with it some. Smile.

In the applications window, I hit appoint With. This is after I have opened a shared calendar. If I schedule an appointment under the Appointment With Option, will it appear on my Co-worker's Calndar or mine? Also, I'm having trouble switching between my calendar and hers. How do I do this? The Alt A. key option didn't work. Help!! The Help section for OUtlook kind of sucks, but that's just my oppinion!

If she has given you permission your changes will be on her calendar. Here's how you switch, and I forgot to add a couple of things. Okay so you open the calendar with control 2. Now get to the view window with control tab. You see all the calendars you have. On the one you want to be on simply arrow to it leave it there and hit tab to the section you want day month whatever. Hit inter and then use the arrow keys or the other controls I spoke about. Now when your ready to get to another calendar use the control tab tell you get back to the list and arrow to the next one repeat the other steps. Hitting alt key and using arrows up down and righ and left will introduce you to many things in the calendar section. If you set outlook to open on the today page you can simply see your appointments and such.

The new MS Office seems a bit clunky with jaws.

Hi, I can open my co-worker's calendar, but I'm not sure if the appointments I set show up on hers or mine. I think they are on mine. I go to calendar, press alt, go to open, select "other's people's folders, type in her name, last name first and hit okay. I then press the applications key, go to "new appointment", and set the date/time. But these always show up on my calendar. Also, I am still having difficulty switching between the two calendars. Control tab doesn't do anything, unless I'm in the wrong field when I press it. I'll check out the Jaws 11 downloads, and see what happens. This is really frustrating.

Your changes should change on hers as well. Get Jaws 11 if you don't have it as you have said. I described my setup, so that all I say is because of it. 11 does fix some issues with Outlook, but I'm not sure if yours are these. Okay using control tab you do this when you are in the calendar, and your steps seem to much to me. All I do is open Outlook. Mine opens on the today page, so I can either click calendar or just use control 2. After using control 2 then I use the control tab to get to the calendar list. Your co workers should be in that list, so you arrow to it, then just leave it their and tab to the view you want. If you want to add an appointment on it after you have select say month view and hit inter, then the applications key takes you there. You make your changes and save them like I described then it will update hers. If not you can email it to her, but that shouldn't be needed. Maybe call Freedom Scientific after you upgrade and have them walk you through it, or direct you to the correct help file on it. I find it easy to use, and as I have said your setup might be different then mine, or maybe you should reset the office on that computer. Not reinstall it, but use the fix mode to set it back to base, then start from there.

Okay I have some more suggestions for Outlook that might help with issues. Here is the setup, and it will differ depending on what you want. This is mainly for the office user, but home users can enjoy these changes as well.
1. Open outlook. 2. Next control T for tools, then arrow up once to options and hit inter. 3. Control tab over to other page. 4. Tab down and you'll hear some choices. You'll find default programs. 5. Spacebar on that button and check all that apply to your needs. This sets program associations, so for example you are doing MSG's or internet calendars, and other things this will make it work for you. Their are 13 different programs, and the arrow keys show them to you. If you are not sure use the help section and type in "what function does your desired programs name do..." and get an answer, or use Microsofts help pages for your questions.
